I thought his team defense was spectacular the first couple years in Miami. Lowe covered this a couple years ago, but the quickness with which he covered ground to provide help D and rotate was pretty freaky. Him and Wade provided more rim protection it seemed than other Heat bigs (pre-Birdman signing).

As far as the "lockdown" label- he can put the clamps on for a short period of time. Won't do it all game or all series. I mean that's never really been his thing, right? He didn't deserve the label last year, we all know that.

He did play Rose about as well as you could that season and his D on Parker gave TP a look in which he couldn't quite expose as well as he could verse other Heat defenders. He can be useful in a situation where you need to change an assignment for a few possessions/minutes. Isn't that how Kobe got a couple extra All-Defensive Team nods lol?

Is he the best defender in the league? Nope. His effort level decreased last year and he looked slower, with the increased workload (Wade's maintenance program and a lack of additional useful bodies on the wing) and minutes seemingly caught up to him.

FWIW the reason why those vids come up is because, like another poster said, the search yields the title of videos on Youtube put up by Kobe stans and/or LBJ haters or people who found that entertaining. That's why it's so popular, hence a high ranking from a search engine query.
