-One-way player that never impacted the game on the defensive end...how many first team defense nods does Kobe have? SMH
-Never won MVP + Finals MVP in the same season(MJ, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Shaq, Lebron, Hakeem, Moses all did this)
    - Never was individually dominant enough to accumulate enough accolades to put him in the top ten. MVP+Finals MVP tally:

    11 - MJ
    8 - Kareem
    6 - Magic
    6 - Lebron
    5 - Russell
    5 - Duncan
    5 - Bird
    5 - Wilt
    4 - Shaq
    4 - Moses Malone
    3 - Hakeem
    3 - Kobe
    Regular season MVP's or overrated.
Kobe Shaq etc. should have more.

When LeBron's career ends, he will definitely move up. As of right now that's my list and I have Kobe at 8. You can hate the guy all you want but you can't ignore the success he's had since joining the league in '96.
so where is dirk? west, malon, erving before dirk?

i have kobe 10-15th range. but i have to disagree with andro: he is saying, that kobe had most of his rings as a sidekick: so what about duncan?: kobes 2001,2002,2009 and 2010 chip are statswise way more impressive than duncans rings in 05/07/14.. so who was the sidekick here =). where is the logic

Kobe's a 45% shooter therefore no argument for top 10

Then Bill Russell isn't top 10 either.

I have him roughly around 13-15 ish, just short of the top 10. Many props to the little guy. Had a great career!
When did Kobe announced his retirement?

Top 10 for sure most have Kobe ranked in 5-9 range. I personally have him ranked #6 where he should be.

If Kobe becomes the NBA greatest scorer of all-time and passes Kareem does he move up a spot or two? Or passes Malone more likely to become 2nd most points scored in NBA history. I think his resume alone would warrant top 5 consideration at the very least.

I love how after LeBron getting spanked by the spurs Kobe was appreciated like never before and constantly getting mentioned as a top 5 player here. Now that fakkits, who are cleveland fans again, crawled up from their holes, he's suddenly in the 11-15 range again

Literally no case to have him lower than 9 even if you're the biggest hater on the planet.
Possibly the greatest laker ever, legit case for top 5

MJ KAJ and Russell are out of reach as of now, but any other player is either passed years ago or in debate

Lebron's a beast. Much better stats and already has the same amount of Finals MVPs. Only thing Lebron is missing is those extra sidekick rings of Kobe's.

    Magic:
    5/3/3>>>>5/2/1

    Duncan:
    5/3/2>>>>5/2/1

Shaq won the majority of Kobe's rings for him. Much more dominant in his prime.

Hakeem has the same amount of Finals MVPs. Bird too. Both have a good case against Bryant.

    The logic is right here:

    5/3/2>>>>5/2/1

    Let us proceed.
