The addition of Rodney Hood should relieve the pressure from Burks and Mitchell.
Just what two guys that have looked like all-stars without Hood need. Burks could be out of the rotation completely when Johnson comes back as well as amazing as that sounds!

one justifiable reason for the poor play has been that Utah has been without their leading scorer in Rodney Hood
It's only justifiable if you haven't watched them play with and without him. Neto has been a bigger loss

Favors started at center rather than his traditional power forward spot and averaged 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. Leading up to that stretch, while sharing the floor with Gobert, he averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and under a block per game.
For reference, only five players are currently averaging 16/9/2/1 on the season: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Boogie Cousins, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid and Nikola Vucevic. All but Vucevic are nearly guaranteed a spot in the All-Star game this year; however, Vucevic may earn a spot if his high level of production continues.
Favors would lead all of these players in shooting percentage as the only player shooting better than 60 percent from the field.
But keep trying to force that square peg in a round hole
[QUOTE]As an unrestricted free agent after this season, Favors will almost certainly get a contract offer from one of the NBA

Not that Sefolosha always succeeds: A big bust last Saturday got a lot of national airtime, as Giannis Antetokounmpo blew by him on the perimeter for a dunk over a late-arriving Rudy Gobert.

The Chicago Bulls looked like an easy win for the Utah Jazz as recently as a week ago. A sure thing. The Bulls were reeling, having lost 20 of their first 23 games and struggling on both ends of the floor. They were one of the punchlines of the league. Losing to Chicago was an embarrassing proposition.
no guarantees as long as the Jazz keep trying to fit square pegs in round holes
The good news for the Jazz is they may get back shooting guard Rodney Hood from injury. And Joe Johnson may return soon as well.
The bad news is Neto is doubtful and Burks and Jerebko will be headed to the end of the bench.

#TonyTalks The building blocks for the Jazz are Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, but the Jazz need at least another piece to compete. What would be the ideal characteristics of that piece?

The Jazz quickly came back down to Earth, but that had more to do with playing good teams than anything else.
more to do with the roster and coach
Mirotic would be perfect next to Rudy
Rather have the guys they got
[QUOTE]Mirotic is a starting PF. Against NY. He had 20 points in 20 minutes with 5/8 from 3. I am not sure Thabo, Jonas, or Favors could do that in their dreams. We need to build a playoff contender. You need to think bigger than Thabo and Jonas starting at the 4. This isn

Following an ankle injury to Rodney Hood, Burks has taken on an increased role, and is handling it with aplomb. In the last seven games, Burks is averaging 20.1 points on 54.9 percent shooting overall and 46.9 percent shooting from 3-point land, four rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. And during this stretch, the Jazz have a net rating of plus-17.5 points per 100 possessions with Burks on the floor, but just plus-0.2 points per 100 possessions when he sits.
and he could be out of the rotation by tomorrow despite that!
