    https://www.lockedonjazz.net/emptyin...-the-solution/

If there is a change that is going to made by Quin Snyder, he has to be right. There is no leeway on this and that is what makes it so difficult. Is the three game losing streak simply because something in the starting lineup of Ricky Rubio, Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert doesn’t work? Are you certain? Because the one-big lineup when Rudy Gobert was out only played one game against a defense that was ranked in the top 15 (Philadelphia) and the Jazz had an offensive rating of 85.7 in that game, which is far worse than the Jazz have had in any of the last three games. The last three games, the Jazz have played the Thunder (#4 defense), the Rockets (#5 defense) and the Bucks (8th best sine the Bledsoe trade). Are you certain that the lineup is the issue?
When they were playing good Rubio's minutes and role was limited. Favors was in a role suited for him and he isn't now. Their problems start and finish with the roster.

The second thing you have to do if you think you have identified the problem is have a solution The solution has to be right. Again, if you make a dramatic move and it isn’t right, you have a real problem.
What problem will they have? Dropping from 7th to 9th and have a better roster in the long term?

So what is the solution? It might be the two bigs together, but both of those players deserve to start and deserve minutes.
You answered your own question. They are both starters. One of them has to go. It's obvious which one if you've paid attention for the past 3 seasons.

In the previous bullet, we brought some doubt that the one-big lineup is really fool proof. Is it the point guard? He is the same point guard who was at the helm of the offensive explosion over the 12-game stretch.
and his minutes and role were reduced. He was back with the ball in his hands last night instead of spotting up in the corner and playing more minutes than everyone despite being the worst option on the whole team! To be fair he wasn't horrible last night but he certainly wasn't good

Moreover, what is your solution? Donovan Mitchell played eight games as a point guard in his college career. He may very well turn out to be a point guard in the NBA, but up to this moment Quin Snyder has used him in that roll very carefully and in the right moments with the right responsibility. If you believe Donovan is a Damian Lillard type, which he might be, then let’s remember that Damian had been a point guard for four years of college, came to Portland who had an All-star on the roster in LaMarcus Aldridge and they won 33 games when he was a rookie.
And? I realize you work for the Jazz and know these guys personally and that's always been a problem for the Jazz. They can't do business when it needs to be done. Favors has to go. Even if it's a buy-out! He just has to. He will not be back so why not start the future now even if it makes the team worse in the short term which is hard to foresee happening. Already lost Bolomboy because they couldn't make the difficult decisions.

Rubio needs to be traded if he can for whatever you can get or bought out so he can go back to Spain. I'm guessing he could get a lot of money to go back there so they might actually be able to so good on a buyout. He can't be happy sotting up in the corner. Or he needs to be benched behind Mitchell and Neto. Square pegs don't fit in round holes no matter how much you try to force them to

Hood needs to go if he can't play team ball. Even if he could with his injuries and upcoming payday why keep him other than the fact that he went to Duke?

Johnson will likely need to go because he is also a ball stopper and likely won't be back assuming he even has anything left in the tank.

Udoh needs to go because he is one dimensional and Bradly looks like he will need a shot soon.

Exum can go and I won't be heartbroken by it. He should have went instead of Bolomboy already

There is not an easy answer other than there is a chance the Jazz have played three teams in a row that are better than they are. The Thunder have their issues, but that was one of the toughest schedule games of the year, the Rockets are great and the Bucks will likely have home court advantage in the East in the first round of the playoffs.
The answers are easy. I don't know what they can get for the guys above but they will be better off without them on the roster regardless of the return. They were up 17 on the Thunder in the 3rd! Against the Rockets they started to get some momentum and Snyder killed it by putting in Rubio for Neto. Last night the coach lost it at the beginning of the first two halves. Keep making excuses. They were winnable games

Rodney Hood’s ankle soreness is complicating all of these issues.
Yeah Burks playing like an all-star complicates things when he gets benched for Hood.

But Hood, Johnson and Exum with Burks, Neto and Jerebko on the bench will make them better!

The Jazz get a day off and two practices before embarking on a brutal stretch of games. December is really tough.
love when the excuses start before they even play!

All of this is true, but people should not forget how good Alec Burks has been. If he keeps playing like this, he will go on to have the best season of his career.
If he keeps playing like this he will be an all-star but the coach will bench him soon!

one thing I wanted to ask you about in terms of Mitchell kind of coming on here over the last couple of weeks is something we talked about with the Jazz before the season in terms of the Derrick Favors/Rudy Gobert pairing. Because Gobert goes out so it forces them to change styles, basically, right?
It's how they played last year especially once Johnson moved to the 4 before the all-star break. Why Snyder though it was a good idea to play two non shooting bigs(Udoh as well) almost the entire game is beyond me after what we saw last year and especially after they got Ricky!

Mitchell has scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven games during Utah's unexpected surge, and as I wrote here, he looks like a second foundational piece for the Jazz.
And Burks the 3rd. Too bad the people in charge will want to pay Hood, Favors and Exum instead!
