Don't believe this. Just some bs article without a legitimate source to generate clicks. Plus, the season is still going, this would be tampering.

This is the only way that Butler could realistically come to LA, though he is an RFA, so I guess he could also just decline to accept any offered contracts and play the last year on his original contract. It's risky because of injuries, but the cap is set to jump dramatically so he could take the chance to get paid by LA next summer.

If the Lakers or any other team offer a max contract, no matter how "toxic" it is, Chicago will match since Butler is literally the only asset they have.

Bulls can offer him more than any other team. Butler isn't going anywhere.

Now you're just making things up. A Max contract is a max contract you can't **** around with it and decide when they get the money a max contract is set in stone. And Butler doesn't qualify for a no trade clause. The only way the lakers get him is if he signs the qualifying offer the Bulls to be an unrestricted free agent next year. Otherwise the Bulls will match everything. Keep dreaming.

I'd be shocked if he gets 8 mil let alone a max.

He's gotta sign his tender and play the year out if he wants to leave.

If he's going to the lakers, than he obviously doesn't care about winning and just wants to get paid.

He may not be the fastest or most explosive, but don't be surprised if he ends up being the best player from this draft.
