I believe we may search for a new outside receiver and have Maclin replace Avant in the slot. He could truly be great there. Kelly likes big receivers for blocking so if Cooper walks I doubt he'll want Jackson/Maclin outside.
He's not a "really good" #2. He's an ok number 2. Factoring in injury issues he's a below average number 2. But Riley Cooper is a solid number 2 and Djax is a solid #1 so it shouldn't really matter.

Huh? Maclin has been more productive than Riley Cooper ever has. Riley had a career year in a contract year. Coincidence? Foles? Mixture of both? You decide, but how does 47 catches somehow make him a good #2 and Maclin an ok #2? Logic doesn't make sense, sorry. Explain.

Maclin has solid numbers but I've never been really impressed watching him play. He was drafted as a YAC guy yet he has been a below average yac guy in the NFL. He had a lot of drops in 2012 and IIRC PFF had him as one of the worst receivers in the League in 2012. Factor in the injury concerns I would take Cooper over him easily.

Maclin's good.. He has been more productive than Riley.. What maclin has a problem with is being a CLUTCH receiver… He finds a way to drop or fumble the ball at the worst times.. He even manages to just fall down short of the marker when we need that first..

I like State Props idea of putting maclin in the slot.. He has good speed (not sure about route running ability tho)

Cooper means more to Philly/Chip than he would to another team. He's an elite blocker at WR. Remember when he had 8 catches/93 yards through the first 5 games last year? Chip refused to look for a replacement because of what he brought as a blocker. It sounds stupid for another team, but Chip puts such a strong value on that. Brent Celek as well. Ertz and Casey are much better receivers, but Celek keeps getting snaps because of what he's become as a blocker.

Another reason why it's likely Maclin moves to the slot. 2 small receivers on the outside isn't doing anything for Shady when he bounces East/West.

Speaking on Maclin, reports today are the Eagles want to sign him to a multi-year deal (at a discount) but he prefers a 1 year "show me" year for a big pay day next year. Sounds like they're headed for a 1 year deal.

Maclin is signed for a year, which I think is good for each side.. I want to see him come into his own and force the Birds to sign him to a long contract..

this works

Did Skins tag Orakpo? Probably will, if not get a deal done by Monday. He's a guy I'd love to steal from the Deadskins.

I'm not even sure where we would put him, but I agree, lets get him and worry and about his positioning later

Prolly put him in Trent Coles's position

That would be huge. It was on roto today that he's likely to hit the open market as the Skins need to use their money to fix a bunch of problems they have. We have more than enough cap space.

Sounds like Jairus Byrd hitting the open market.

Work that Oregon connection, Chip!

Where do you think we head with the 22nd pick now? Our biggest need is an edge rusher but they don't seem to be in our pick range.

Calvin Pryor - Jenkins/Wolff seem to be the starters here currently. Would they still take Pryor and create a competition between him and Wolff? I like his big hits but he may not have the "versatility" Kelly covets.

Clinton Dix - See above but may go higher in draft.

Louis Nix - Fills a need. Questions over surgery history and weight. Can plug a gap at 340 lbs.

Roby/Verrett/Gilbert - I see Gilbert as the closest option of the 3. 6'0" with 4.3 speed. Secondary still needs help.

CJ Mosely - DeMeco replacement?

Re'Shede Hageman is a name I've seen pop up as a 6'6" versatile DT yet raw.

Not factoring in how unpredictable a draft can go/change from what is "projected". At 22 I foresee us taking BPA. Not so much going for need.

Would like to see a trade up however.

Time for Eagles fans to spin losing their #1 WR for nothing as a genius move....
