Could easily be 11 - 71.
The coach increased their win by 100%!

I would have loved to seen a Robinson vs Shaq playoff match up in the mid 90s. Wish they played in the same conference, or even division. Robinson may have got the better off him in the season but I have little doubt Shaq would have killed him in the playoffs.
Shaq called this guy out even before the stat padding incident. Robinson would always tell the media Shaq had nothing to be jealous from. Nice little rivalry that was developing.
Sick match up between the two from 1994.

^Shaq's. Look at the first move in the video. He fakes Robinson out of his shoes. This guy wasn't skilled.

If you could add any player in the league to your roster, who would it be?
David Robinson (San Antonio), 8 votes
Magic Johnson (Lakers), 5 votes
Michael Jordan (Chicago), 3 votes
Larry Bird (Boston), 2 votes
Akeem Olajuwon (Houston), 1 vote
James Worthy (Lakers), 1 vote
Patrick Ewing (New York), 1 vote
Abstain, 1 vote
this shit was surprising. i guess GMs are thinking take the younger talented center over the 2 surest things in the NBA? WRONNNNNNNNNNNNNG
while i think the DRob hype was deserved, i still dont think you pick hype over a sure thing. 8 GMs are idiots and the 2 who vote for Worthy and Ewing are also morons

Titles are overrated
Re: Interesting GM survey from April, 1990
That was before Ewing slowed down/got banged up and became mostly a jump shooter. Ewing was having a 29/11 season shooting 55% and blocking 4 shots a game. And it was taken in april? In the previous two months he had averaged 32/12 and 31/12 on 58 and 59% shooting. In April and march he had games of:
40/15
37/19/9 blocks
37/17 the game before that
37/21/6/5 two games before that
Which was 2 games after he had 51/18 and 41/12 in back to back games. He was having games of 44/22. And 44/24.
He was straight rampaging through the NBA. And really so was Karl Malone. Karl put up 34/10, 29/9, and 33/13 in the months leading up to this survey.
So both of them got a little more love than they likely would at an average point of their careers.
But you can see why. They were on top of their games. 1990 was before I even decided Karl Malone was a bitch. He had not started the soft ass fadeaways 19 times a game. He rebounded more. He wasnt as good a passer back then but he was going pretty hard for a while there.

Re: Interesting GM survey from April, 1990
To the Shaq/ D-Rob quasi rivalry...Because of his step father's military career Shaq lived in San Antonio for a while. I remember Shaq saying that when he was a teenager, Robinson brushed him off for an autograph or something like that, and he never forgot it. That '94 scoring title stat padding move by the Spurs was definitely a little bush league though.

I think that this was like the Unseld 1969 MVP. As a rookie, D-Rob was the centerpiece (no pun intended) of a major turnaround (35 games). The hype and emotions surrounding stories like that tend to get the best of people.

Interesting to see 'Nique as the most overrated.
