Boston is going to have to lean on pierce much more this series on offense and defense if Ray can't play up to his normal standards. Tonight might have been an anomaly though.

Regardless, Pierce is going to have spend more time on Kobe to slow him down and that might hinder him on the offensive end.

Difficult if Artest is grinding him down... not easy on the switch defensively either for Pierce...

Ray Allen was in foul trouble. And they played too fast.

PP missed quite a few open shots. It was shocking. And KG missed a open layup. He should've dunk'd it. The Celtics need to come back more focus and play better D.

Default Rajon Rondo is soooooooo overrated!!!!

    Best All Around Point Guard

Seriously, this guy has made a living off of Pierce, Allen, KG, Doc, Celtics system. Obviously, your going to play well if your surrounded by those cailber of players. Anyone who says Rondo is the best on the Celtics team is out their mind, Pierce is on a whole different level.

Has he gotten a lot better, yes, but he is so limited offensively it hurts when they play really good teams and team defenses. It is like playing 4 on 5 out there. Anytime he takes a jump shot you think it has no chance of going in, same with free throw. He won't rack up rack up crazy amounts of assist on a team like the Lakers. He is a very poor finish in traffic, where a guy like Derrick Rose excels. I felt like Nate Robinson had a better chance of making a play tonight than Rondo, becaue of Nate's jumper

Give me many young talented players over Rondo. I can only imagine what a guy like Stephen Curry or Brandon Jennings would do if they traded places with Rondo, especially Curry and his outside shot.

But honestly, you know you played a shitty game when Rasheed Wallace made your only three-pointer and Nate Robinson has your team's highest +/- rating.

Open shots turning into turnovers? Give me a break. Pau Gasol outrebounding all of the Celtics' bigs combined? Come on.

We didn't deserve to win this one. Hats off to LA for playing the better game.
Rondo showed up but it was the Lakers size that kept his penetration game off for the night. He was aggressively attacking but he either got blocked or had to throw it away.

So yeah, credit to Lakers' interior defense.

And Garnett was terrible offensively and defensively.

    LOL

He has an off game the first game of the finals in LA and you turn into a hater.

How well did KG play? Pierce? Allen?

Rondo is the best player on the Celtics.

A top 5 pg in the L, and he will be for years to come

Its just one game - and i say this as a laker fan.

It would be a serious mistake to think that he wont play better.

Still a decent game... Lakers just have length and protect the rim better than than any team he has played (Dwight can't be everywhere at all times).

Rondo, KG and Ray all had a terrible game. Only lost by 13.

Hes not overated when he plays his game hes one of the best in the league. Its just that his game can be easy to shut down by keeping him out the paint and limiting fast break opportunities.

Why are people acting like Artest shut Pierce down? Rewatch the game, Pierce scored every time he took a shot against Artest. Celtics didn't go to him enough, period.

Rondo was awful. His whole only pass to get an assist mentality was a big reason why we lost this game. He sent the ball in Ray Allen direction more than he did Pierce's, and Ray played half the time Pierce did. Disgusting.

Ray and KG were terrible but Rondo wasn't that bad. He was aggressive like usual but Gasol, Odom, Bynum & crew all protected the paint very well.
