Gloves in basketball???
Do you ever think some type of glove will be created that will assist in basketball performance? More grip could lead to easier dunks for the smaller hands people? I'm about to start a new trend and show up to hoop courts with some football gloves on palming the rock with ease

Gloves already exist for that purpose, must be against NBA rules or something though

Re: Gloves in basketball???
I've played basketball in gloves before (tried a few different pairs, including a pair of QB gloves). I can't see it catching on. It just didn't feel right, now being able to feel the roughness of the ball. It felt like I was unaware of how fast the ball was spinning when I had it in my hand and it was difficult to feel the lines of the ball with them on, something I relied on for my (terrible) free throw shooting.

Re: Gloves in basketball???
Me and my cuz had this discussion.......it ended with a NO after we tried to shoot with it on.
Not only do they tickle when you run with them ( ), but they just arent made for basketball.

Knicks all da way
Re: Gloves in basketball???
funny you make this thread. its about 35 degrees in the city and i was hell bent on playing with them on today, because its been a month since i last balled. i was dead set on balling with them on, but i get to the park and freakin wet ground. unless im playing with the yellow dish washing gloves, i was not going to play with the black gloves i brought to the park. it shortened my stay about an hour because my fingers got way too cold to ever get in the rhythm. 30 degrees + wet fingers = pain. as a matter of fact its been 6 and half hrs since i got back and my right thumb still has a stinging pain. for love of the game man, for love of the game.
anyways besides my boring story, you some kinda fruitcake? you wanna put gloves on patrick ewing? the man who had brick hands? it would just look funny lol

Where Brooklyn at?
Re: Gloves in basketball???
I wore 1 glove on my left hand once when I was playing in ice cold weather. I took it off after I got my blood flowing though. To answer the OP's question, I doubt it.

Re: Gloves in basketball???
i think he means like under armor or like mcdavid or nike making some special basketball gloves then them becoming like shooting sleeves... ehh its possible not likely.... maybe with like the finger holes cut
would look pretty fruity to wear them in street/pick up game....

Good college starter
Re: Gloves in basketball???
Well, what Kevin Love uses looks like one. Good thing it's on his off-hand though... right?
Anyway, I highly doubt it. It just doesn't seem like it would work, for me.
