And not as good? Kobe Bryant pulled off a season that had not been seen since Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor!.....Most of the records, milestones, etc he accomplished those 2 seasons had not been seen in as many as 40 years!

Yes LeBron won at a higher level, but are you going to sit here and say it didnt have anything to do with his role players??
Good points. And the fact that Lebron was in the much inferior conference. And no thats not speculation. Just look what happened in 07 when he got to the finals. SWEPT! If that Cavs team were in the West they barely get 8th seed and get swept.

^ QFT on the eastern conference part.

Let's not forget how TERRIBLE the east was. Lebron played Wizards in the first round which weren't all that much better than they were at the start of this season...

Even if caron butler wasn't traded, and gilbert arenas didn't get convicted for gun-bringing the wizards still wouldn't have made the playoffs... and it's not like the East is SUPER STRONG now... it's just a lot stronger than it has been in a while.

Celtics and Hawks are both around the same level that the 2-8 seeds are in the west...

To say that Kobe has never played at the level that Lebron is playing at now is really near-sighted. Yes, Lebron is getting more rebounds, and more assists, but the validity of those stats is questionable. I for one when I watch the cavs play am not too impressed with Lebron's rebounding skills, most of his rebounds are already secured for his team. His assists are admittedly good.

on the other hand just a couple of years ago Kobe scored 81 points in a winning effort... 81. Then he scored 62 points against the Mavs that got 1st seed in the west in that same season... Kobe HAS played at a level equal to what's Lebron doing now, everyone is just way into the hype.

Validity? LeBron's definitely earned them. I just think they're inflated in the sense that everything that team does revolves around him. If other superstars were surrounded with the shooters he has and were given the green light to hold the ball 12-15 seconds each possession many of them could put up similar numbers.

Really? Who could do that? LeBron has been putting up gaudy numbers even before he had any talent on his team.

If you question his rebounding/passing ability; you really don't watch Cavaliers games. Having the ball in your hands doesn't give you extraordinary court vision nor does it give you the ability to rebound well.

As Kblaze pointed out in another post; LeBron holding the ball "all game" is a myth. There have been plenty of players in the past who held the ball as much as LeBron or more; they just didn't have the all-around game or ability to play as well as he has, and in turn resulting in eye-popping stats.

If someone is arguing that there are a lot of players that can put up 30/8/8 on 50% FG, then don't even bother responding. If it were that easy, or they think they could put together a team that could do that, then they should be GM's.
