Default Would you rather have Chuck or Horry's career?

In one, you're the man, a yearly all-star, win an MVP, go into the Hall, and get to be considered top 50 all-time. But you end up ringless. In the other, you're a role player who makes some big shots in the playoffs and ends up with 7 rings.

Do rings matter more than being great? We're not talking about a guy that rode the pine. Horry did contribute. But he was never great.

When all is said and done with one's career, what would feel better?

I'd take Horry because he was a lot better than people think. I remember I called him an all-star talent... and dudes here were like lululul. To me, he was. he wasn't an all time great at all, but he was very capable and used his ability to fit in. Great defender, could play both forwards, was wet, could handle the ball, pass. I'd take him on my championship team.

Horry knows how good he is and so do the people who played with him. So, I'm kind of partial to those kind of people.

Chuck, I still hate Horry for hip-checking Nash into the scorers table, couldn't live with myself if I picked him.

If I wanted to be a role player I would take Kobe's career

So a Horry type player is probably going to earn around 70 mill over their career with salary and endorsements... a superstar is going to earn around 500 mill over their career with salary and endorsements.

Ill take the 500 million, you keep your roleplayer rings.

    Horry's salary totaled $53,745,000.

    Barkley's salary totaled $40,301,000.

Endorsements may make up the disparity but it's not like Chuck is going to blow Horry out of the water even with good endorsement deals.

Horry. Millions of $'s, rings, played with Olajuwon, Shaq and Duncan, clearly overachieved. Retire and have fun, sleep tight, no remorse.
