Do you think Kyrie could legitimately become a Kobe/Wade level sidekick?
Think about it. Who were the only 3 superstars since MJ who could have legitimately contended for a title every single year on any team in the NBA during their prime? Shaq, Duncan and Bran.
Shaq and Bran always had a clear cut sidekick, a beta to their alpha. For Shaq it was Kobe three times, then Wade once. Bran had Wade every year with the Heat.
Think about how many finals Shaq and Lebron have led teams to over the last 15 years. It's crazy. And every time they had the perfect complementary sidekick.
Sometimes if you have a really long, high IQ big man like a Duncan or a Pau you can kind of take a "by committee" approach to the sidekick duties. But a dominant alpha like Shaq and Bran always has their sidekick.
Kyrie is looking like he COULD be that guy this year for Bran. What do you guys think? Is he up for the challenge?

In other words (and much shorter): Is Kyrie as good as Kobe and Wade while playing with Shaq and Lebron? No.

He might not be as good as them as an "alpha" since Wade and Kobe have both led their teams to the first round of the playoffs as the man, and Kyrie hasn't.
But as a pure sidekick, I think he could be just as effective as Kobe and Wade were when they won their titles as sidekicks.

Kyrie has the potential to be a much better sidekick to Lebron than Wade ever was. Better speed, better handles, and a MUCH better shooter. Hopefully he will prove me right in this year's playoffs.

i don't think kyrie will ever be as good off the ball as wade is, they're not a perfect fit together just like wade and bron were but they made it work

kyrie is already a much better sidekick than wade. He doesn't clog the lane, can hit threes, better at bailout shots, better defense, and doesn't need the help of LeBron to get himself going.

sure.
he'd have to vastly improve his defense and toughness though.
at only 22 I'm not ready to start limiting a player with this kind of talent, but he has to put in a ton of work to get to the level of prime wade/kobe.
