Michael "Empty Stats" Jordan
*Caveat: MJ is GOAT
86/87 Bulls 40-42
2013/14 Wolves 40-42
MJ: 29.8 PER
Love: 26.9 PER
MJ: 37.1/5.2/4.6 on 48.5%
Love: 26.1/12.5/4.4 on 50.2%
Both played in stacked conferences.
Someone explain to me why Love is empty.

You're right, was looking at 2P%. That's a lot of threes for a PF.

Didn't the Bulls make the playoffs that year?
Either way, that stuff is stripped once you are a proven winner. If Love starts winning championships, no one is going to call him empty stats.

They did make the playoffs. And you're right, although if the Cavs win titles, people will say that Love is just in a supporting role to Lebron.

True, but nobody is going to argue that Love is better than MJ. The point is that if Jordan was in his third season today putting up those stats on a 40 win team that missed the playoffs, his detractors would be saying the same thing they say about Love.
Granted, MJ's game was different.

Do you know who was on that Bulls team you stupid fuck? The next best player on that team was a raw Charles Oakley in his second year. That team had next to no talent and they had to go against the likes of the Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks. That team winning 40 games is a miracle considering how worthless the roster was.

So who did the Wolves have on their team that was so good last season? I'm not saying that Jordan's stats were empty. I'm questioning why Love's were considered empty.
Anyway, we can go back to Jordan's rookie season when he had a teammate in Woolridge who average nearly 23 ppg. They still only won 38 games. Again, I'm not saying Jordan's excellent rookie season was full of empty stats. I'm just questioning why that sort of thing is said about Love.

Love had Kevin Martin and Pekovic. Granted, both are flawed players but if KG can bring a team with Szczerbiak as his #2 option into the playoffs, then Love should at least be able to do the same.

Kevin Love was a top 5 player in the league last season.
