to those who honestly think david stern told the refs: 'go out there and make sure miami wins'....

why possible reason would he have for this? the heat were already heavily favored and at home, you really think he'd risk the reputation of the nba (AGAIN) on the first game of the first round between a 2 and 7 seed? after all the bullshit he's been through with refs in the past?

and why would he want the knicks to lose big? the better the game, the higher the ratings. the better the series, the higher the ratings. there's no logic to it

    Miami winning = $$$

They even made a damn HEAT index dedicated to the Miami Heat on the official ESPN website.

That game was crazy fixed, but I feel the need to say that people who think the free throw attempts should be near even are morons.

Not referring to this game at all. Just something I notice fans always complain about.

6-7 game series between the nba's most popular team and the biggest media market in the country = even more $$$$$$$

there's no reason for stern to rig a miami win when odds are they'll win anyway

its been proven moe games doesn't mean more money.

whether its 4 games or 7. the NBA make the same money from the TV deal.

the ratings of previous years effect how new deals are structured

THis is the biggest overreaction to a game I've seen. Knicks got their butt kicked, take the L and move on. Being mad is not good for this team..THey need to be composed and play their game.

The one thing DAL had last year was no matter how blatant MIA had a call or did something, they stayed calm and kept playing.

This is where Woodson needs to know how to control the pulse of the team. Im not worried about Carmelo, Im worried about JR Smith because he can win you games or lose u games...

Of course the Knicks should think like that but why shouldn't the fans be mad?

yep, Gary Neal is overreacting. He is a Knicks homer, clearly.

The refs raped the Knicks last six minutes of the 2nd quarter and the Knicks never recovered from a mental standpoint. They fizzled and completely lost their composure. At that point it was a 1 point game. Then the Heat went on a 20-2 run inspired by 20 Miami free throws to 1 Knicks free throw in the quarter.

I understand that, but I also understand from watching teams play the heat, you're not gonna beat them when they are on roids . They are strong, fast, and can be very physical when they want to be. Talking in the media and being mad is not gonna work with them. They still have insecurities and are vulnerable in the half court. Boston last year lost their composure(PP,Rondo)

Im not a coach, but you increase your chances of beating this team by playing your game, rebounding, showing fire but not over thinking too much.

knicks had a lot of silly fouls (melo fouling lebrons jumper twice, smith doing the same, a lot of charges) lebron definitely had a few flops (he straight fell out of bounds on and drew a foul on jr smith, and the tyson chandler back screen was pretty close to a legal screen in my book) but the knicks just weren't as aggressive

and those saying that the heat defense is aggressive, it may be aggressive, but its not overly physical

they rotate aggressively (wade completely disregarded shumpert off of the ball) and have an aggressive approach (fronting melo for long stretches), but it wasnt particularly physical.

the knicks seemed overwhelmed by the heat's intensity

not many of the fouls at the time seemed like terrible calls

certainly not enough to have a big impact on the game
