There are only about 500,000 people in Oklahoma City. A 10 rating for that market is only like 50,000.

Very good NBA starter

The Oklahoma City MSA is a little bigger than you think.
Oklahoma City, OK MSA-1,252,987
At 1.2 million people, it is the 43rd largest urban area in the country.

Ok, so 120,000 people.
It's still the smallest market in the NBA.

not surprising. There's no other major sports teams in Oklahoma besides the Tulsa Shock.

Good point.
But hey, don't discount 120,000 people.
Baseball only had 443,000 people for the ENTIRE COUNTRY for its Nationally televised baseball game Wednesday. And the MLB game featured teams from Miami and Philadelphia, 2 huge markets!
Plus, the season has just started, you would think baseball would still be new and fresh for the fans.
Think about this. The Oklahoma City Thunder draw about a 3rd of the audience (using Oklahoma City only) that a Nationally televised baseball game gets for the entire country, featuring a team from the giant city of Philadelphia!

Agreed. The NFL is tops. I'm not saying its not. But after football, when it comes to sport popularity, the NBA has a case.

MLB has some weird time schedule on their televised games. During the regular season, they often have games between 1PM to 6PM on TBS or Fox and a few prime time(8PM or later) on ESPN.
And their postseason schedule is even worse. They don't start games until 8:30 or 9 PM on the eastcoast and most of their games don't end until midnight or 1 in the morning.

That's only in the States. Basketball tops American football and baseball around the world.
