Nazr Mohammed re-signs with Bulls
The 6-foot-10, 250-pound Mohammed, 37, will be back for a third season with his hometown Bulls, one of eight teams he has played for since being a first-round draft pick of the Utah Jazz in 1998. He played in 80 games with the Bulls last season, averaging 1.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 7 minutes a game.

Nice. I thought they could use one more traditional C. Taj will be playing C a lot off the bench but Nazr can fill in as well. That front court is just insane now. Noah/Taj/Gasol/Mirotic/Nazr Mohammed.

Oh the Irony, the Least productive signee was retained by the Bulls.
Korver, gone
Brewer, gone.
Nate Rob, gone.
Bellinelli, gone.
DJ Augustine, gone.
And it's not like most of these guys got lucrative offers somewhere else.
Nazr's 1.6 pts and 2.2 rebs must have really impressed the mgt...

Tamaraw I think you're being too critical of a signing on a guy who will barely play and be on the end of the bench.
He's not costing us much money, he's a good veteran locker room type of guy and is actually serviceable with his size and age in case of any injuries. But with Noah, Gasol, Gibson and Mirotic at the 4 and 5 he shouldn't play much.

Only player on that list I would want to keep is DJ. He worked well in Thib's offense. But the rest, bums. Especially Nate Robinson. I was scared the Bulls would make a bad decision on re-signing him because of that one decent season.

oh wow, The rest bums?
Korver is a bum, are you freaking kidding me? Where would Atlanta be the last 2 year without him.
Belinelli and his 10pts/game is a bum? really? but hey don't take my word for it, just ask Popovich and his competent staff.
Incase you don' know, Nate Rob had a much better playoff stint than DJ in Chicago.

Yes, Mgt did a pretty good job getting Pau, the rookie and Mirotic
But I just didn't like the message they sent.
Do well with the Bulls and you'll be gone the next season. Under perform for 2 yrs and you will be resigned....atleast, that's what I got.

Out of all those listed, I think Nate was the main one we should of kept IMO.
He is a unique sparkplug who can ignite an offense and turn a game with his enthusiasm.
We could of kept him for 3 mill a year, Bulls went a bit cheap IMO.

Any of those players could have helped but yes, Nate is such a very good offensive player that if the team is struggling offensively, he will make things happen off the bench. Like you said, a spark plug.
Is he a great fit with the starters? I don't think so. You can't ask him to properly dictate tempo, minimize turnovers etc etc but the guy can definitely be a great asset off the bench.

Kurt Thomas gone too.
