Russell is a greyed out option in my GOAT list. He'll always be there, but I separate the premodern era from the modern era.
GOATS Of PreModern-- 1. Russell 2. Wilt
GOATs of Modern -- 1. Jordan 2. Kareem
A reasonable take? On ish?

My first one. I post in multiple places/on multiple sites, so you won't ever see me flooding this one. I like to be a little bit everywhere and see different site cultures. This is one of the better ones.

If Kobe wasn't a top 10 player during his first 3-peat, then Lebron certainly wasn't either.
And he isn't.
Lebron is top 12-15 at best.
PER 100 possessions is a better stat.
Kobe is 30.9/7.6/6.5, 52.7 TS%...109 offensive rating, 104 defensive rating - 21.3 PER and 4.5 BPM
Lebron is 35.5/11.2/7.6, 59.5 TS%...117 offensive rating, 102 defensive rating - 28.2 PER and 9.8 BPM
Lebron was on a higher tier.

Russell came into the league playing with the league mvp and ROY and only had to win 2 series a year for 8 titles to get a title. From the 1980's forward you needed to win 4 series a year to win a title. Russell for his 11 titles won 25 series. From the 80's forward you needed to win 24 series to win 6 titles.

MJ

MJ did it TWICE.
? Shaq also did it without a top 10 goat. Kobe did it as a sidekick so not even sure why you named him.
