    Default Re: Offseason Plans 2014

Going into the summer w/ #28, two small TPEs, the Mini-MLE and a few holes that need to be filled, here is my first take on things.

1] BBD, Granger & Collison all decide to opt out.

On the draft night, the Clippers trade the unguaranteed contract of Jamal Crawford along with a 2017 second round selection to the Charlotte Hornets for Gary Neal, Bismack Biyombo and the 24th selection of the 2014 NBA Draft.

Following up, the Clippers swap Jared Dudley & Willie Green to the Sacramento Kings for Jason Thompson and a 2015 second round selection.

While the Clippers lose instant bench offense, they gain a shot blocking backup Center & a legit backup power forward.

With the 24th overall selection select Shabazz Napier. Bazz led UConn the whole way, and while he is more of a scorer, I feel that he would be great behind Paul.

With the 28th overall selection, the Clippers go with Jordan Adams of UCLA. Adams has the tools to be an instant bench scorer and is also a predator on the passing lanes.

In FA, I would keep Hedo around if he wants another go. Else maybe bring back Elton.

Go after a veteran point. Steve Blake would be a good pick up to bring back.

Could use a solid fifth wing. Try to get Pierce to sign for the MMLE

PG: Paul - Napier - Blake
    SG: JJ - Adams
SF: Pierce - Barnes - Bullock
    PF: Blake - Brand
    CE: Jordan - Thompson -Biyombo

JJ gets more time, Clips get some solid bigs.

I'd also consider bringing back Kaman if he doesn't mind being the third big of the bench.

    Take two:

Clippers trade Jared Dudley, Willie Green, #28 to the Toronto Raptors for a TPE, #37, 2017 Knicks 2nd, 2018 Raptors 2nd.

-Gain a TPE, drop a few spots, but gain future #2s.

Clippers draft Spencer Diwnwiddle with the 37th overall selection.

-Local kid, could be a solid backup combo guard.

Clippers trade the unguaranteed contract of Jamal Crawford to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Jason Thompson. In a second deal, the Clippers send the Kings the Jared Dudley TPE in exchange for Derrick Williams. Kings also send the Clippers second round selections in 2015 and 2017 and Reggie Evans.

-Add a great backup big man in JT, and the former #2 overall selection, who can be a good scorer with Paul. Plus, Reggie! Reggie! Reggie!

In free agency, Clippers sign Paul Pierce to the full MMLE and give Elton Brand the Vet Min. They allow BBD & Granger to walk. Also "convince" Collison to pick up his option.

    PG: Paul - Collison
SG: JJ - Bullock - Diwnwiddle
    SF: Pierce - Barnes
PF: Blake - Williams - Brand
CE: Jordan - Thompson - Reggie
