    Question Spurs fans

Give me your take on your team right now?

What's making the defense so good? They are keeping opponent below 90PPG which is remarkable for this era

Splitter imo was mad overrated, he was a bum.

That's just my opinion though LMA is better on both offense and defense.

Splitter was no bum. He was just mad frustrating when it came to finishing around the rim, and mostly staying healthy. He would miss three games due to a minor headache or some shit.

He basically single-handedly shut down Dirk and LaMarcus during the title run. And it's not like he was getting a lot of attention for it. A bum?

That said, LaMarcus has been damn good on D this year - I've always said he's much more valuable on that end, because his offense is pretty trash.

That said, this team is going nowhere if Green doesn't step up. Someone needs to light a fire under his ass. It's no panic time just yet, but it is something that needs to be done. I still have faith in Danny though.

Team just seems really locked in defensively relative to seasons past. No glaring weak point - like a Gary Neal or DeJuan Blair - who doesn't make up for it otherwise. Aldridge adds a more athletic, tougher element who can block shots. The more minutes Kawhi gets the more the defense seems to get better and he's playing a career high in mpg (34+). They're also playing at a much slower pace relative to say 3 seasons ago (ranked 17th in pace vs. 7th) and I think they're posting up more. With old man Timmy, LMA, and Kawhi all able to post up the Spurs are kinda more like the Spurs of old.

Yeah Dannys been ice cold all season, its a concern.

Splitters biggest problem was staying healthy.

    D is just tight.

    Boban is a legend already.

    Simmons has a decent ceiling.

Kawhi is Top 5 PER in league.

Manu has proven me wrong and has been valuable.

Offense still working itself out a bit and only going at about 75% of its potential tbh

Leonard is healthy and playing. Duncan is not playing anything but defense as aldridge is taking the post duties. Aldridge is an under valued defender.

Oh and a pace of 93.4, 25th in the league. If you play THIS slowly....

Why is that? I really want to know how fans perceive him since I have seen in videos how everyone celebrates when he does something good.

Yes, it's not just the defense, Aldridge is a HUGE upgrade over Splitter, who was useless on offense, freeing Duncan to play D to DPOY level.

And a bench replacement of David West.

You replace Splitter (certified bum) with two all star level players.

Leonard and Green are two of the best perimeter defenders, anyone who gets past them meet Aldridge or Duncan in the paint. These two alter the shots and clean up the boards. Parker is finally healthy so his defense is improved over the last couple of years, not to mention he's shooting lights out .562 fg%. Then you can still bring in David West and Boban off the bench. Can't wait to see the clash of the unstoppable offense of the Warriors and the lockdown defense of the Spurs.

He's such a streaky player. I don't mind him sucking in the regular season - they've got a great record even with him sucking but hope that he'll light it up in the playoffs or the Finals like 2013.
