Sorry to say it, but when he first signed his contract, I expected him to be one of the worst deals in the league at the very latest year 3 in the deal. A history of injuries, and leaving his physical prime is a recipe for this.

You kind of hit the nail on the head. When you give out huge or max deals to guys who are in the final year or their primes or even past it already, you are going to have a history like Knicks have had the past decade.

Also, Knicks seem to sign guys with no rhyme or reason other than the fact they are talented big names. You cant just go out and throw money at big FA's with no plan on how they will mesh or no idea of what your team identity will be.

But Knicks don't have the cohesiveness and team mentality that the Mavs had. I think that is the biggest reason the Mavs won. They had extremely good team chemistry. Cant say the same for Knicks.

Be honest, you honestly thought the Mavs had that cohesiveness and potential to win a title last year during season play? NO ONE saw the Mavs winning a title last year, even Mavs fans.
