he does have a decent range for a defensive big man like him... and he has the power to dunk over people and stuff... but he needs to work on developing... he will not have an as good early career as Shaq... but im sure they'll turn out to be pretty similar...

No they wont you moron. Shaquille O'neal was only so good defensively because he was so big. Oden isn't as big as any other guy on the court that he faces, and he'll be much better Shaq is on defense. Shaquille O'neal, from day one was always about providing offense for his team, and thats not what Oden is about. No, they wont turn out similar because they're two different players. They don't have the same style of play, thus wont turn out similar to each other.

Let me say that footwork is one of Odens bigger strengths on offense... very advanced for a 19 year old, but he would have difficulty reproducing Shaqs offensive impact, since Shaq was such a huge monster and completely overpowering.

That said, he could have a career similar to Shaq (impact-wise), but different(style-wise).

And I know shaq at 18 would destroy Oden now and he had more upside then Oden...And Prime Shaq is arguably the most unstopable force in NBA ever....

Ladies and gentle. I give you, The first ever Greg Oden homer on this board. College numbers don't mean jack ****, look at Hakeem Olajuwons numbers, look at other guys numbers, and you'll see they mean nothing. Just because he had better numbers in his Freshman year, doesn't mean he'll be as good as O'neal is.

If he was shooting with his 'sick' hand, as you call it, don't you think his 'main' hand would have decreased in production? There's no way to find balance in between your two hands. Just because a player does something with his off hand, doesn't necessarily mean that his 'main' hand is far superior that they don't need to ever use it again.

Robinson, Hakeem, O'neal, Abdul-Jabbar, Chamberlin. What do they all have in common? They were all already extremely offensively gifted even before they came into the league. They all had MUCH MUCH better offensive skill. Oden, doesn't, and won have as much skill offensively as any of these guys, thus wont be at the same level of talent these guys have. Have you watched O'neal when he younger? I can tell you for a fact that he wasn't just some fat blob that threw his weight around. He had some awesomely perfected post-moves and he was a ****ing quick guy for his size. He may have possibly even been what Garnett is today in terms of quickness. Oden isn't anywhere near as athletic as old Shaq was. How can you compare them, and say that Oden will be better when you've never even watch Shaq play?

By the 72 comment, do you actually expect Oden to ever drop 72 on any team. If so, you really are what i say you are. A Homer.

If i recall corectly, you only became an Oden fan recently, as recent as say, when the Blazers won the pick, and now every topic you come into, you're always saying Oden is better, even though no one asked your opinion on whether you think Oden is good.
