The 90s stars are on their way out and the 2003 class has been in the league for over a decade now and has started to decline now.

Then you have Curry, Harden, Chris Paul, Westbrook, Blake, Wall and Anthony Davis.

One of the things that I find most interesting is that a lot of younger people, teens, say, "There were no super stars back in the 90s." When putting down past players, and I always find that interesting, because they're simply saying that because they're not familiar with past players, yet they think they are so right. And it's also interesting because in their eyes they think future humans are going to know and care about players like CP3, and the majority of current stars. They will only know Lebron and Kobe, a little bit of Durant, and think that's the end of it.

One of the strongest eras of all time. Evolution of the game and defenses to a high level. Nutrition has made huge strides in recent years. Development of advanced offensive strategies and full incorporation of techniques like the pick and roll which are very efficient but rarely were very frequently used over a decade ago. Very large, international talent pool, literally hundreds of kids on hoopmixtapes and youtube all over the world.

Yes, but most east teams completely suck, and the West pad wins on them. Doesn't mean that a team from the east can't win the Finals. That's not the issue.

Introduction of expansion teams diluted the talent across the league, leading to less elite teams unlike in the 80's were competition was significantly stiff.

How do you measure the strength of an era?

What is the measurement?

If it's talent pool then it is as big as it has ever been

If it's the amount of elite teams then it's as bit as it has ever been... Measuring an era is a whole league measurement... Not a conference one... The west in the 80's was considered weak but the decade as a whole is considered one of the stronger ones.

If it's the amount of superstars then that's a stupid measurement as the rules today certainly don't cater to elite players like it used to. Team is a focus of the rules today and this is reflected in the stat output by the top players... Often mistaken for wading talent.... No. The talent is as high as it has ever been. Rules affect play, and play affects statistical output.

In the 90's you had this plethora of dominant centers, which was a reflection of the rules to an extent... Today you have a plethora of dominant guards/wings/power forwards that wasn't as present in the 90's.... This is because the rules today cater towards these players. Jahlil Okafor would be much higher rated if he was drafted in the 90's.
