I'd buy the Houston Astros. Everyone loves baseball in Houston, regardless if they're a winner or not. Basketball is a tertiary sport in Texas, and the Texans blow donkey dick. You can literally field scrubs that make up 1 of the worst teams in MLB history and still make $100M in a year. They proved this last year.
This is assuming we're talking about actually buying a sports franchise, I wouldn't go anywhere near an NBA franchise. The sport already hit its peak and it will likely never get back there. I wouldn't be surprised to see it become irrelevant, well not irrelevant but like current NHL status, by the year 2035

None because it's not that lucrative being an owner and teams can still lose money easily. Because a team is valued at a number doesn't mean you're making money. You'd have to sell the team in order to make money. I'd put my money in something worthwhile. NBA teams are hobbies for billionaires not mney makers.

I'd buy the Pels, Fire Demps and Williams. Bring in George Carl. Offer Saints fans discounts on Saints tickets if they commit to at least 20 games. I'd renovate the arena, raise the ceiling, bring in the biggest HD Scoreboard, Light up the court real nice, darken up the fan seating a little to get everyone focused on the court. Upgrade all of the fan seats a lil something like this throughout the arena.
I'd also go ahead and pony up some cash to book Amazing halftime shows. I would definitely spend on fan experience in order to keep and or attract fans. I would change sponsors and rename the arena "Pride Arena" I'd probable exhausts about 3/4 of my wealth, just making going to a Pels game the thing to do. I would pay for winners on every level. And if I go bankrupt, everyone will at least know I tried.
