The Miami Heat on Tuesday announced the signing of guard Reggie Williams, who apparently will be part of a reserve-by-committee approach for the minutes behind starting shooting guard Dwyane Wade.

Williams was limited to three games in the NBA last season, all with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He split the rest of the season between the Thunder's NBA Development League affiliate in Tulsa and with the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association, where he averaged 29.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
