Larry Bird on today's era

Re: Larry Bird on today's era
LOL, here's Kobe, Vince Carter and even Donkey Green SLAMMING today's soft NBA while they were/are still in the league:

Find me clips of players that were playing in the 80's/90's calling the league soft during that time, you can't.
There are "great" players for THIS era like LeBron, Curry, Harden and Westbrick nobody is denying that, the reason people don't respect them specially old school players and fans is because the rules have been RIDICULOUSLY ALTERED to favor offenses in the past 20 years so it makes the public question how good could they have been had they played in a more physical league.

There has always been great players in every era...its just that today's soft ass cupcake rules has made it much easier to score, which gives the impression that overall players today are much better than before.
Put it this way, if FIFA wanted to attract more interest from US fans and decided to change the rules to favor overwhelmingly the offense so instead of having 2-1 games now you have 6-5 shootouts, most casuals will think offensive players are now just better without taking into account the fact that defenses are now hampered to allow more goal scoring...every team would have a Cristiano Ronaldo/Leo Messi level player

Re: Larry Bird on today's era
Bird has always been a hell of an ambassador for the game. You can tell he just loves the game and has no regrets about his career and legacy, nor does he feel threatened by the future. You guys think nba history started in the 90s or 80s for a few older guys. Wilt, Russell, Robertson and co. said the same sort of shit about the 90s. But it was your favorite era. So let this era be some other kid's favorite, why should it matter?

Chef Curry w/ da shot
Re: Larry Bird on today's era
Stephen Curry has changed the entire landscape of the NBA, so of course this era is valuable and refreshing.
