You'd be slobbering if you had a two-way talent like Leonard on the Lakers - FMVP and DPOY at age 23 plus 2 years Finals experience. And Green is a STEAL at $40mill/4 years compared to the contracts that were given out this off-season.

The reputation of the Spurs organization is finally paying off. David West gave up a lot of money just to experience playing for a quality organization, winning games and consistently competing for a championship. Current players are leaving money on the table to continue playing for them (Green and Duncan). Scrubs who have been through the Spurs system are getting paid.

Bellinelli - $19mill/3 yrs

Their assistant coaches and former players/employees are getting hired as head coaches and GMs. They are the model franchise that teams are copying and now even the style of play (ball/player movement) is being imitated (Warriors).

He's a less skilled Pau Gasol that doesn't play defense or rebound. Pau went 0-12 in the playoffs in a weaker West as a #1 option.

Kawhi + Aldridge + Green + Mills + free agent to fill the void left by Duncan and Manu that the Spurs will clearly sign + one or two draft picks that turn into borderline all-stars, which will also clearly happen + the best organization in sports = a pretty awesome proposition.

Also, why ignore next year? Why throw it out the window? Clearly next year the Spurs are one of the top 3-4 favourites to win it all. Can't ask for much more than that.

Obviously, Kawhi is the future of the Spurs. But LMA is a 23+/10+ guy the last 2 years - that's not a bad option to have - regardless of what option it is. And LMA just turned 30 a couple of weeks ago.

As for the OP...interesting that the Spurs will roll out with no center or coach. We'll see if it pays off for them down the road.
