Maybe the Bulls and Hawks weren't that terrible afterall
Everyone trashed them when they lost to an injured Cavs team.
They called the EC of this year the weakest conference of all-time.
They were 50 wins and 60 wins teams. People acted like they were d-league teams.
Cavs are now up 2-1 against the 67 wins Warriors.
I'm not saying the Cavs will win the series.
But them controlling 3 games against Warriors shows how good they are.
Maybe Bulls and Hawks weren't bad, but Cavs were actually very good.

It's interesting... i said this after game 2 as well.
Now that the Warriors are playing an eastern conference team, they look similar to other eastern conference teams. They don't look like a "Western juggernaut" they are proclaimed to be.
And this proves that the Cavs are really the #1 defense in the playoffs, and not just inflated because of the east.

Yeah, everyone was laughing at Bulls for missing so many shots.
Hawks who had great offense the whole year got laughed at when they missed shots against cavs.
Warriors, the #1 offense, are also missing many shots.
Bulls and Hawks were considered great teams the whole year, but as soon as they started to lose to Cavs, everyone started to call them trash.

They held the Warriors to 40%
THE WARRIORS DIDNT BREAK 50 POINTS UNTIL 2 MINUTES LEFT IN THE THIRD

Bulls were definitely terrible, they used to miss wide open layups in their droughts

The Hawks actually were trash. Softest 60 win team since the '07 Mavs.

You guys are going a little crazy over a 2-1 series. GSW could easily win the next two and make it 3-2.

I'm confused at how the series being 2-1 is relevant to what the OP says.
Even if the Warriors are up 3-0, this series has been competitive and the Cavs are playing without two all stars. Either way, it shows that the best team in the west is very vulnerable to solid defense. The Warriors can have all the analytic advantages they want, but if a team in the east wants it more, it can be done.

Re: Maybe the Bulls and Hawks weren't that terrible afterall
I think the big difference is parameter D of the Cavs against the Warriors. The Warriors had a bit of break with the facing teams with good interior D but poor parameter D. The key injuries for Memphis and Houston were good to great parameter defenders who would have been guarding Curry. Great parameter D is making the Warriors work. Curry and Klay aren't easily getting into a groove and it has thrown the entire team off. The coaching staff never made an adjustment until they inserted David Lee into the game. A credible low post threat helped them get better spacing and Lee is an above average passer for a big man.
