How tall is Bill Walton?

I know he is listed at 6'11'' although many say he is well over 7 feet tall. I read somewhere that the last time he was measured was as a freshman in college @ UCLA where he measured to be 6'11'' and he refuses to be labeled a 7-footer since he believes 7-footers are freaks. And when Walton played for the Celtics in '86 he appears to be taller than 7 foot Parish in the team photo.



What do you guys think? 6'11'' or 7'0''?

He looks like a monster there. When I saw him play against Kareem, he was clearly not nearly as tall as Kareem at 7'2" although he thoroughly dismantled the Lakers in the 1977 playoffs

I always put him right at 6'11".

and now-- he is settling in because of age. that is why he looks shorter when standing next to shaq

Yeah, people begin to lose height as they age, which would account for why he's so much shorter looking than shaq in that pic. Men grow till they're about 25, then eventually start shrinking.

Shaq is 7-1 barefoot so Walton is about 6-11 to 7-0 barefoot based on that image.
