Default Michael Jordan like Kobe Bryant didn't have the ability to lead awful teams...

Michael Jordan just like Kobe Bryant are both great players, but neither had the ability to lead absolutely awful teams to contender status. MJ and KB are the type of players to lead the league in scoring, but their team barely makes the playoffs OR they lose the 1st round.

But guess who can lead awful teams to contender status???? LBJ.

2007 Cleveland Cavaliers who lost in the NBA finals to the Spurs

    6 Shannon Brown
    1 Daniel Gibson
    90 Drew Gooden
    32 Larry Hughes
    11 Zydrunas Ilgauskas
    23 LeBron James
    19 Damon Jones
    27 Dwayne Jones
    24 Donyell Marshall
    14 Ira Newble SF
    3 Sasha Pavlovic
    31 Scot Pollard
    20 Eric Snow
    17 Anderson Varejao
    4 David Wesley

2nd best player on this team was Ilgauskas

    Agreed

Inb4 3ball spams 'Ilgauskas was an all-star reserve in 1974 therefore the Cavs were stacked etc'

There's a reason MJ and Kobe were 1st round losers before they got superstars.

What's the point of "leading" awful teams if it doesn't get you a championship?

All those players, LeBron included, needed multiple HOFers AND great rosters to win their titles. Reality.

Yeah LeBron's 25/8/8 on 40% finals run through two mighty 41 win teams and the Pistons on their last legs really sets him apart from losers like Kobe and MJ.

I don't think '07 is a good example. A better one is '09. Probably the biggest overachieving team in NBA history.

Michael Jordan like Kobe Bryant didn't have the luxury to play in a weak conference.

The scrub Shannon Brown would go on to win two rings with Kobe.

that's only because they played in a stacked conferences, unlike Bran.

MJ's 80's Bulls got their asses kicked by a 3-time champion Celtics team and a back-to-back Pistons team. 2 dynasty teams.

We know how stacked the West have been since 1999.

That does not make him a scrub?

"weak" is relative . It's just like if I was to say "I'm strong", well in comparison to who?

3 time champs lead by Dennis fking Johnson at PG, who probably wouldn't even make a team today, and a time when a guy who can't run or jump, but can only shoot was touted as a superstar in Larry Bird!

And the Pistons were just a mockery.

MJ scored alot but didn't do much else for his teammates.

Lebron is one of the best ever at making bad teams look good. But he's one of the worst among the greats at making good teams great.

'88, 89, and half the '98 season w/o Pippin @ 35 years old say otherwise. Hell, his turn around of the Wizards at 38 / 39 years old in 2002 proves OP wrong as well.

Chris Bosh gotta be the weakest HOF ever.. since the 60's, at least.
