Just read Andy/Haywood

The ****.
I'm pretty sure we can get more than expiring contracts and late picks for a 25 year old all starter caliber shooting guard.
Not to mention Demar's skill set really overlaps with Kyrie and LeBron, he needs the ball to be effective and there's only one ball to share and he's a terrible spot up shooter...

138 mill payroll + taxes
If this deal went down (and it is a major "if"), I'd guess JJ would backup LeBron and play a lot of the 3. Shumpert would remain the starter, imo.
I'd also guess JR Smith would be going to Brooklyn in a S&T.

You think the Nets want to take on money and bring in JR Smith? That would be hilarious but no.
Hate this from the Nets perspective. This is a move about (100%) saving Prokky money. Nothing else. If you're worried about the billionaire and his finances, then yes, this is a kick ass move.

Why would Joe Johnson who is making 25 mill next season come off the bench behind a scrub like Iman Shumpert?
Also, per the new CBA I don't think you can S&T players that are unrestricted free agents anymore.

They could get West and Joe Johnson and LeBron groupies would still act like he doesn't have enough help.

Do you think the amount of money Johnson is making on a contract signed five years ago is going to have an impact on how the Cavs' coaches choose to use him?
They need a playmaker off the bench. That would be his role.
Also, you can S&T free agents. The Cavs couldn't receive a player via S&T because they are over the cap, but they can send them out.

...but they would want Varejao?
This would be strictly a salary-saving move.
