A brick is when you miss. A bank is when a shot goes off of the backboard and in. It's simple.
Think about if you tried to shoot a brick at the hoop. Does that sound like an easy thing to do?

"Brick" implies that the shot was a miss.
Hence the phrase "are you gonna build a house with all those bricks" whenever someone is missing shots left and right...
The term you're looking for is probably "chuck." Players can chuck wild/crazy ass shots AND still have them go in. Which is exactly what Hedo did.

It wasn't a brick... it was a bank. Your making yourself sound even more dumb by calling it a brick bank.
And dissapointed with the finish, especially where Roy went into the corner covered by a double.
(yes mad)

Re: HAha Blazers lose on a brick 3 pt bank by Turkoglu
A bank from 3 is the equivalent of an airball. It should not have gone in. It was grossly off. You shouldn't be proud of winning on a shot like that because it shouldn't have gone in. The fact that it did anyway does not make it a clutch shot because it was grossly off from where he aimed it. I call that a brick, a fluke.
It's only a "bank" if he aimed for the glass, which nobody does from 3.

I would have rather had him have 18 and 7 with a win than tonight
30 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists in a loss. What a waste. Maybe getting the team involve would have made our defense pick up. Guys are less aggressive when they aren't scoring.

nope. A brick is when you shoot it too hard. It doesn't matter if it luckily goes in, its still a brick. A bank is intended backboard shot. y'all don't know what you're talking about

Ok good excuse. Except Hedo made the exact same shot last year with time running out against the Celtics. If you ever played basketball you would know when facing the backboard using the glass is very efficient.

Brick is a slang term used in basketball to describe a shot attempt that hits the rim or backboard and misses badly.

SMH at arguing about the meaning of a brick in ball.
