The Spurs were an elite defensive team each year they won a title. This year they're not elite... just like last year. Pretenders.

Are you serious? It was a terrible match up for the Spurs last season. We couldn't even beat the grizz in the regular season while we owned OKC, Dallas and LA.

Every year a team loses a series because of match ups.

We trotted out a team last year that had a injured Duncan (ankle) and a Manu that had a broken arm. Not to mention a severely different team that comprised of Dice, Hill, Bonner, a rookie Neal, etc.

Now we have Splitter, Leonard, Green, Jackson, Neal in his second year.

    I guess we will see

I'm not saying they can't contend in the west as they will be in terms of being able to win the title? not sure.

Jesus, christ, people act like Manu didn't have a broken arm, like the Spurs are a completely different team this season, that it's 2012.

Naw the spurs got a shot this year. The Spurs, Thunder and Heat have the best chances. Oh and the Lakers too. But the Spurs do have a legit shot. I can see it happening.

Spurs will always be overlooked, but I'm fine with that.

Anytime when a 1st seed who wins 60+ games loses in round one people will always wonder if they can step up enough to go deep in the playoffs. Just the way it is.

Duncan is a lot more spry this year than he looked last year.
Parker is playing at near MVP level, compared to borderline top 10 PG last year.
SJax is an upgrade over Dick just by Dick being gone.
Splitter had no equivalent on last year's team

And Manu has played 15 games this year. If healthy, imagine how much better an already great Spurs team will be.

They have as much a chance as coming out of the West as anybody, and they're one of the few teams that can give Miami all they can handle.

Not like their best player was hurt or anything.

Anyway, that was last year. The Spurs are deeper and much better compared to last year. I'm sure people don't watch them now, but they'll see when the playoffs come. I have faith in this team, it's the best they've been in a while.

Spurs would get crushed by the Lakers, Grizzlies, and the Thunder. They are a 2nd round exit team at best unless they somehow manage to avoid all three of those teams in the first 2 rounds. However, I find that almost impossible to happen.
