they need bigs though, some tough bigs. With Love, Varejao and Thompson they'll be good but still need a big center.

Even though I like Allen and Miller you have to remind yourself that they are both old now. Sure they can knock down 3s but the problem is they can't defend anymore because they got old and slow. Ray really struggled last year in Miami.

No way Bron signs with Cleveland without Allen coming along. Who is going to save his career when the Cavs are in the finals? A dagger 3 from Allen of course!

If that's not what you call "old faithful" I don't know what the

that'd probably be perfect to round out their veteran presence

not gonna lie really hope they flop tho. they are sort of feeling like Miami 2.0 with these add on's even tho their young nucleus was there from the start.

I don't see him getting much playing time ahead of Waiters and Wiggins

Wtf is this? A team has 4 1st picks, a hustle center, potentially bringing in a top 4 PF, perhaps the best 3pt shooter the game has ever seen, another 3pt specialist, and you're sitting here talking about how they need to get bigs?

Yeah, that's clearly a weakness of their on-paper roster and it'll certainly help them, but this team doesn't "need" anything. Spread the love, jeez. Why the hell is it that when every team that isn't San Antonio doesn't win a chip but is in the running, the only option that's being pointed out is just brute force player acquisitions?

They already have the talent in their pieces, they now need to work with what they got and improve their chemistry, make their young guys better, and learn to play team basketball. That should be what wins them a chip, not trying to rebuild an Olympic dream team. Your mindset is up against the empirical evidence of Patty Mills and Boris Diaw outscoring/outplaying all but Lebron on this "stacked" Miami team in the finals.

Thought you were a Heat fan.

And I haven't seen any confirmation of this. I guess if Ray needs to chase more rings he'll go, but if he just wants to play competitive basketball and shoot 3s, then the Heat have a player who fed him just as much as LeBron did.

Plus Ray left Boston for South Beach. If playing for a favorite isn't his only consideration, why would he leave the 305 for Cleveland?

If the game is close, no way Allen will be sitting on the bench behind those two. One is a rookie and the other has zero playoff experience.

So you would be fine if spurs traded their gm and coach to cavs but cavs don't get any more players because that is what you are saying. You don't count gm and coach as part of the team.

We talking playoffs here? It's going to be 3-4 years down the road before the Cavs get into the finals again. Allen will be retired by then

Who is going to stop this Cavs team in the East?

Bulls? Rose has reached Wade/Amar'e-level now and isn't a threat.
Pacers? They're losing Lance and possibly Hibbert.

I'm genuinely curious who you think will prevent the Cavs in the East from reaching the Finals.

Not when that player misses 1/3 of the season.

No, what I'm saying is what I said, not your little paraphrasing to twist things for your purpose.

If you want me to reiterate, this team doesn't "need bigs", which was the poster's point of contention, verbatim. That's what we're discussing here. Not whether or not I'd "be fine if spurs traded their gm and coach to cavs but cavs don't get any more players".

Edit: Oh, and where the hell did I mention I don't count the GM and coach as a part of the team? How many fallacies in a 2 sentence comment can you make? It's almost the opposite of what I've been pointing out: the TEAM needs to work on improving their chemistry, making their young guys better, and learning to play team basketball. That's like... crucial responsibilities of the GM and coach.
