I write this to you totally floored. I've stood by my expectation of LeBron going back to Miami since pretty much the beginning. And that expectation has been proven wrong.

LeBron just made the biggest PR move in NBA history. He came out and basically said that this choice wasn't about basketball, it was about going back home and playing for his home town. Which is something those fans, and that city, and that state will appreciate more than winning rings.

I read that letter and thought the same thing. If he ever wanted to win the city back, he executed it perfectly.

I liked how he handled it instead of that stupid decision gimmick. But leaving a team he bought to the finals for the last 4 years? Jumping off a sinking ship to a lifeboat as a captain before your crew gets off.

Lebron is a very shrewd businessman. Going back home and playing for his home team is a sentiment, and these days with 24 hour media coverage, sentiment is good for business.
