Default Dirk - First white european to win title as leading man?

Has there ever been a european that lead his team to a title?

and how far do we have to go back for a white player to lead their team to a title?

Larry Bird?

during the broadcast they said there were 4 non-US players that has won a Finals MVP. I can think of Hakeem off the top of my head, does duncan count? if so then thats 2, tony parker, thats 3...

as far as your original question about him being the only white european person, that might be true...unless you want to say pau gasol even though he didnt win a finals MVP, he seemed clearly the best player on last years lakers team.

Props to Dirk, but its going to be a long time before that happens again -- if ever.

Put me down as a doubter that Dallas can repeat.

I'm sure a good number of people on this board will want to say, "2009 or 2010 - Pau Gasol."

(If we're talking about Game 7 only last year, then yeah, Pau did more than Kobe did to get that one win IMO, but for the entire season/playoffs, I think you put Kobe ahead of Pau.)
