If anyone saw the interview, you'd see that JR was remarkably honest and humble about the Knicks stinking up the joint last year, yet he remained confident in himself and the team going forward. He said nothing that you wouldn't expect a pro athlete to say.

Omg...athlete says his team has good chance to win conference...Stop the presses...

the world is not black and white... though it seems most Americans want to view every single issue as black and white (literally and figuratively)
Because he would say such a thing

Jr Smith also mentioned he was going to play much better than he did last season.

Contract year, why wouldnt he say that

For the assholes here the only thing JR could have said that they'd be OK with is, "as a team, we're pretty much done."

As far as the talent and the system goes, on paper it looks pretty good.

I would imagine that Fisher will run the triangle offense, or something very similar. This means that you do not really need a true point guard to run the system. Its a system for equal opportunity offense. Nobody on that team will average more than 6 assists per game most likely. Once that offense is mastered and everyone knows their role (after about two full seasons of practice) this could be a pretty decent and unselfish basketball team.

Lots of ifs though. Do a lot of ifs result in something being "extremely" realistic?

We aren't screwing up our 2015 offseason for Mayo. Sanders and Ilyasova, just stop it

Steven A Smith completely called him out. He was like "Knicks won 37 games last year, and you shot 41%. what happened?"

Sad thing is that he was efficient compared to some of the other guards on the team
    41 percent 39% from 3

    Shump
    37 percent 33% from 3

    Felton
    39 percent 32% from 3

Any competitive athlete will say it's realistic. You don't say "There's no chance" even though we all know that's the truth. It's demoralizing for your team
