2nd best is too far, especially during his sidekick days. Maybe you can argue it during his days as the man in '94.

How was he better than Olajwuon, Robinson, O'Neal, Barkley, Malone? I'm not even sure if he was better than Stockton.

Jordan
Hakeem
Robinson
Shaq
Ewing
Stockton
G Hill
Payton
Iverson
Drexler
Mourning

Were all better.

(Every player listed has a better PER than Pippen's 18.6)

He wouldn't be Top 20 in todays era

But ya, back in the 90's he was Top 5 definitely

Then there's Patrick Ewing as well who would have a case over Pippen, but I think Pippen vs. Ewing is pretty debatable personally, but again I didn't watch them play.

Pippen has zero case over Barkley.

In terms of peak level of play, Barkley is 2nd only to Jordan in the 90s. It just so happens that his peak occurred under a useless coach, surrounded by a starting lineup of Armen Gilliam / Mike Gminski, Rick Mahorn, Hersey Hawkins and Johnny Dawkins / 36yo Ricky Green and with no depth coming off the bench. I don't see Pippen taking that team to 53 wins.

Pippen was never the 2nd best in any given year, so certainly wasn't the second best overall. You could probably argue him for 4th( the common saying was the 'best non-center') in 94 and 95 after Hakeem, Shaq and Admiral. In general, he had a few seasons in the 90's of being top 5 but the majority of them was bottom half of the top 10. Excluding Jordan, you don't take him over Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, Malone, Barkley at their best and then you had guys like Grant Hill and Penny, as established next-gen wingmen talents nipping at his hills from 95 onwards( until Penny faded from injuries but Grant maintained a superstar level of play till 2000).

lol at Jordan stans downplaying Pippens greatness as usual.

Even Julius Erving said in a interview that the Bulls had 2 of the 3 best players in the league at the time so saying Pippen was a top 2/3 player of the 90s isn't really farfetched.

I can't think of anyone outside of Hakeem that could've dragged a team to 55 wins and almost get them to the NBA finals with B.J Armstrong as his second option.

No to be the best you have to be Elite on BOTH ends offense and defense Barkley didn't give a shit about half of the game so how can he better than Pippen

Lol at a Lebron stan overplaying Pip's greatness. Pippen is one of my all-time favorites and the reality is, his best coincided with other all-time great talent that were simply better than him. Think about it, Shaq, Admiral, Barkley, Malone are all ranked over him in just about every GOAT list you can find. All of them have less titles. Hell, Barkley and Malone have none. So clearly that would suggest that most people feel they were just better players and rate Pippen accordingly based on his role with the Bulls.

Pippen wasn't an 'elite' offensive player, he was at best a very good one. So congrats on killing your own argument. Magic wasn't a better defender than Scottie( or a number of players). Who you taking, Magic or Scottie? Who's ranked higher in every list known to man? You're dumb as fukk.
