Surprisingly bad FT shooters
Do you guys have any you can think of?
I just saw that JR Smith, one of the best 3 point shooters in the history of the game is actually shooting 60% from the FT line this season and is a 73% on his career.

Not crazy surprising, but Rondo's 60% is utterly abysmal for a pg.

a career 47% shooter shouldn't be 60% from the line

Bruce Bowen had a great 3 point percentage but still fell victim to the Hack-a-Bowen a few times. Cavs did the same to Iggy last year iirc. Iguodala is a weird case, he used to be a 75% + guy earlier in his career, seems to have gotten worse over time.

Beal is a career 40% shooter from 3, 77% from the foul line.

Not surprisingly bad, but surprisingly inconsistent...Tim Duncan's free throw shooting percentage throughout his career is one of the NBA's greatest anomalies of all time.

Baron Davis was never impressive at the stripe yet could score anywhere on the floor.

Re: Surprisingly bad FT shooters
Always figured Bron is better than 74% career. Everytime I think of alltime greats 1-3, they're usually closer to 80. I'm sure someone will post one below 74 and I welcome it. Too lazy to look it up and good addition to the thread.
eta: Pip at 70%. Tho never thought much of him as a shooter.
I don't even get Iggy's FTs. Comes into the league around 75%. Peaks at a very respectable 82%, and then it's all downhill from there dipping as low as 57%. 63% over his last 6 seasons including this year. 75% over his first 6 seasons. He's improved as a 3pt shooter and is clutch af, too. Do not understand.

Nick Anderson - after his 4 botched free throws in Game 1 of the '95 finals, his ft percentage plummeted and never really recovered

This.
Nick Anderson had a season where his 3pt and ft were almost the same percentage

Andre Iguodala. Dependable 3 point shooter, but hovers around 60% from the line.

He gets paid millions, plays 82 games a year, practices pretty much DAILY.
How the fuck do you excuse getting WORSE after so many years in the NBA?
