Default Why did the Bulls never invest in a good backup PG?

Not intending this to be another Rose bashing thread, but he's been injury prone for years now. Why haven't the Bulls gotten a good PG to replace him with when he goes down but also play next to him and Butler sometimes?

The Pistons traded Augustin and Singler for Reggie Jackson. It can't be too hard to get a decent PG.

Bulls would be contenders if they ever did this.

    Rose would veto it.

They have Rose, so they need to invest in a good starting PG.

They've had good backup PGs for the past couple years. Their backups are more reliable than Rose.

no dont do it to em'

but rose coming off of the bench wouldn't be such a bad idea. can you imagine a former mvp being allowed to come off the bench and have some run against scrubs? would do wonders for his confidence.
