coach of the year
This year it's really a tough one to pick the COTY because we have so many excellently coached teams. Some great coaching done right now:
- kerr/walton. the media pick, 70+ wins almost guaranteed. Crazy offense. What kerr did with the warriors since he got there just proves how important a good coach is. Cleveland and Okc are seeing this the hard way.
- pop might get 70 without even trying. the old man is still the best imo, he grew kwahi into something nobody ever expected, integrated lamarcus, has a nice long bench, manages minutes, grows unknown dudes into great players. goat gonna goat tbh.
- brad stevens is winning with some HOT trash. His offense is so fcking beautiful, they always get wiiide open shots and they play some tough defense. If they get a great player this year in free agency and a top 3 pick they'll be right there with the cavs. Brad stevens is just getting started, once he gets decent talent he'll get his ring.
- terry stotts. Look at portland's roster and that's all you need to see. Their frontcourt is weaker than that of the lakers .. nuff said. He also grew McCullum.
- carlisle . Dallas is in the playoffs with a brooklyn level roster. The 2nd best coach in the game imo, he just got his hands full with that roster
- casey. doing a good job with the raptors 2 games behind the cavs.
My pick is stevens, this dude is brilliant, civil and a RUTHLESS leader Reminds me of a young carlisle. Overall a great year for basketball tbh, behind all the GSW media monopoly, we're really seeing a great season.
for the 75 and under IQ group: kobe and lebron are not (good) coaches, there are a million other threads about baldness and the kate farber choo-choo fam.

really excited to see what these guys do in the playoffs. Stevens will wipe the floor with east's coaches but stotts might be unlucky and get a first round vs pop, tough luck I guess

TT for me. Losing 4 starters and still winning does it for me.

Stotts has already overachieved tbh. Celtics have a better chance at making noise in the postseason, really exciting playstyle.

Dave Joerger of the Memphis Griz.
What he's done with so many man games lost due to injury is pretty impressive. Currently at the 5th seed and is currently 12gms above .500

Re: coach of the year
You can't win 72+ games and not won COTY
A lottery team overachieving happens every year.
Golden State is likely to break the record for wins in a single season.

Kerr missed half the season he is not coty although a case could be made for GOAT Walton.
