Prime/Peak Duncan was a beast. Double, triple teams, didn't matter. He'd make the right play more often than not.

Deceivingly athletic and quick for a big man. Could shoot, post-up, dish the ball all at an elite level. HOF defender and shot blocker.

at 3:05 in the video (beginning of the 4th quarter in the game) he blocks Nowitzki pretty good

Not top 3, but one of those rare guys where every single move he made was beneficial in some way.

And some of those rebounds are amazing.

If the Mavs were healthy in that series (Dirk playing the remaining games), Dallas probably would've went all the way. Shame.

I remember when I uploaded those Duncan videos... I was shocked at the way he was just destroying everything

    Doubt it.

They snuck away with game 1 after going 49 of 50 at the line (when does that ever happen?) They lost the next two (by 13 each time) and they had no answer for Duncan...until Dirk went down and they were forced to put N

03 Timmy as the basketball version of Jesus for 8 straight games against LA and Dallas then closed the finals with 21/20/10/8

One of the greatest playoff runs ever

He was drawing a lot of fouls in that series.

That Mavs team was very good. They won game 5 without Dirk.

Both games 4 and 6 without Dirk were very close.

Acting like the Mavs would have won for sure is totally false, but that was very close to a toss up series. Duncan was better than Dirk, but Dirk had more help.

The Mavs were up huge going into the 4th of game 6. No way they collapse like that in an elimination game with Dirk.

Damn thing still should have gone 7 even with Dirk missing games 4,5, and 6....that was a loaded and dangerous Mavs team.
Nelson's all out offense was the reason they couldn't go all the way

At first look you'd think that, but we actually played surprisingly good defense in 03...and that offense was ****ing deadly.

We had the 9th ranked defense that season....we won 60 games. We had the best offense.

Lets not put limits on a team that made the WCF and were up big in the 4th qtr of game 6 against the champs without their clear cut best player.

You guys aren't living in reality acting like there was no chance. The Finals were a formality...the title was on the line in that WCF.

wonder what would have happened if the teams he faced in the semi's and WCF didn't have major injuries to their best players

While Dirk was healthy, TD was dominating the series.

I'm not gonna say it was a certain win for the Spurs, but I don't think like you either.
