Default Is FMVP the most overrated accomplishment ever?

    Seriously.... some people act like:

    1. The FMVP is more worthy than the MVP...
    2. The FMVP means that player is the best player in that team

Really? The FMVP is battled between 2 teams, 15 players during a span of only 4-7 games!! Which means ANYBODY can win it... you just have to be the most productive player during that microscopical stretch....

during 4 games ANYBODY can be the FMVP..... this is why the FMVP does NOT mean you have been the best player in your team, but the MVP does, it means you have been the best player the entire year.......... instead of a week...

If you dont believe me... take a look at this... and please tell me if they were those teams best players... and that they could also win the actual MVP..

    1. James Worthy won the FMVP over Magic & Kareem.. uh oh? James > Magic-Kareem

    2. Cedric won the FMVP over Larry Bird... uh oh? Cedric (who u say?) > Bird

    3. Chauncey Billups won the FMVP over Hamilton & co...

    4. Tony Parker won the FMVP over Tim Duncan...

    5. Pierce won the FMVP over Garnett, Allen & co...

    6. Joe Dumars won the FMVP over Isiah Thomas...

    7. Dennis Johnson won the FMVP over Gus Williams & Sikma

    8. Wes Unseld won the FMVP over Elvin Hayes

    9. Bill Walton won the FMVP over Maurice Lucas

    10. Jo Jo White won the FMVP over Dave Cowens

    11. Willis Reed won the FMVP over Walt Frazier, Debbuschere & Earl Monroe

    and so on..............

Please... stop overrating this trophy...... its the CHAMPIONSHIP & MVP (BEING THE MAN) that matters... FMVP means NOTHING, it means only that THAT player just so happened to be the most productive in the Finals for the winning team, during a 4-7 game stretch....... nothing more...

------->FMVP is not more worthy than the actual MVP<-------
------->FMVP does NOT mean you are the teams best player<---------

It's not overrated, but it's not better than the regular season MVP.

It depends on the context. Wade's Finals MVP is worth more than Lebron's regular season MVP. However, Tony Parker's Finals MVP is not worth more than Lebron's regular season MVP.

It all depends on context pauk.

Whoever told me to neg pauk... I can't neg pauk because I have to spread some reputation around before I can give reputation back to him.

    Just saying. Carry on though.

it depends on who gets it.... If LBJ had an FMVP and Kobe had 5 reg-season MVPs then FMVP would be worth more, but Since lebron has never won a ring much less an FMVP then a regular season award is worth more than an Award you get for leading your team to the finals and being the best player on the biggest stage in the sport.

Yes. They should just give out first round MVPs against teams with losing records. LeBron would finally get his due.

Not overrated and most of the time best player on championship team gets it.

Regular season MVP is more important achivement than Finals MVP though. But if you are FMVP, it means you are already a champion..who cares rest.

Disagree. I think FMVPs are very important. Far more so than AS MVP which seems to be given merit which is laughable, and all-def teams which are ironically handed out tp offensive minded players.
