    Default All-NBA 1st Team Guards 2016-207 Season

This might be the biggest battle for 2 spots ever.

    Stephen Curry
    Russell Westbrook
    Kyrie Irving
    Damien Lillard
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
DeMarr Derozan (if he keeps this up.)

Westbrook, Harden, Dame and Curry will seriously compete for first team IMO. Curry will make second team because he doesn't have a great narrative on his side and his season won't be as historically good as it was last year. People are just tired of CP3. He's been so good for so long it's monotonous, and the clips have somewhat underacheived. I just don't buy that Kyrie will put up the ridiculous stats needed to secure a spot on the first team. He'll prob. get 24 ppg and 5 assists on 58 TS%, which is really good, but not the historic level needed for this. Westbrook and Harden will have the best numbers of any guards this year because their teams need them too, and the west is open enough for them to make the playoffs. Dame has a deceptively solid team and I think he might be ready to average 27 ppg and 7 assists on 57 TS%, which is great. He's "The Man," and his playoff shortcomings wo't come into play. Demar has been great, but I don't see it at all.

Westbrook seems to have a spot locked already. He has full reign over the offense...and he's the best defender out of all those guys.

The second spot will be between Curry, Harden, and Lillard.

What? Westbrook is a better defender than CP3?

I suppose who is on what team will depend on how much they take into account winning.

If Warriors hit 70 games again and Curry is at about 25 ppg and 5 assist he'll make 1st team.
Harden will get his numbers but it won't be Westbrook level.

Curry & Westbrook (Even though I think CP3 is best)

it's a 4 man race for me for 2 spots. Westbrook, Curry, Harden, CP3. Honestly, have no idea which 2 will get those spots but I would say Westbrook and Curry are the favorites for those spots for now.
