If it happened it would be a gimmick for tickets and attention because he'd never quit basketball to give football the focus needed to be a legit NFL player.

Lebron even past his prime could be a decent redzone target. Not many are gonna jump with him on a fade route. Many former basketball players end up outstanding tight ends just off being athletic with a frame that allows them to add muscle. And most were not WRs who had offers to play for top D1 programs. Urban Meyer offered him a scholarship at 16. Not some urban legend. Meyer said so himself.

And there are current NFL players and ex coaches who have said he could step right into the league. Dez Bryant believes he would be a beast. So its not like....something only people not involved in the game believe could happen.

That said....you cant just go from NBA to NFL and play for real. He could take a while and be a potential asset. Anyone 6'7'' 260+ with his speed and hops is at LEAST gonna draw the attention of the defense if hes put in around the goal line across from a DB.

Be nice to see. Might even pull a Brock Lesnar and turn a stunt into real success but I doubt it. Brock had a better background as a real wrestler than Bron as a football player. But it would be nice for a team like the Jaguars who just needs to sell tickets.

But if they were gonna go that route they would already have signed Tebow.

He can play strong safety no probs with his speed + build. Any other position and he'd be a liability.

I watched Jimmy Graham at Miami go from a scrub power forward to a productive starting tight end(after not playing football since his freshman year in HS). And now he's the best and most explosive playmaker at the position in the NFL.

There's no question in my mind LeBron could make the transition. He's as freak of an athlete as we've every seen in any sport. Right there with Bo Jackson.

he (and his cousin as a bonus) were offered full rides to Miami of Ohio his freshman year of high school.

He was literally one of the best H.S. football players EVER in the state of Ohio.

No doubt in my mind he would make it to the NFL and be successful in it.
