Should the Warriors trade for Gasol?
Ezeli is out indefinitely after undergoing knee surgery. J. Thompson and Ezeli for Gasol works. This will give the Warriors Gasol's bird rights. This move helps them now and later. Gasol has a high basketball IQ. He was able to fit into the triangle quickly after being traded to the Lakers mid-season so I don't think chemistry will be an issue.

Isn't Gasol literally a better Speights?
I would think Warriors would rather obtain a defensive big

Good college starter
Re: Should the Warriors trade for Gasol?
They can win it all without him if Bogut is healthy
-
Decent playground baller

Not unless the Bulls want Jason Thompson.

I wouldn't mess with GSW's 10-man rotation. Would only trade to add Pau to experiment to make it 11 / split the minutes between Speights & Pau. Jason Thompson + Fillers -- if the Bulls want to experiment w/ Thompson & Mcadoo. It can only go sensationally right or terribly wrong w/ GSW-Pau. He's a great passer & he would be the ideal big man for them if it's anything to be improved but I guess it's not all black & white in terms of capability, my only question is will he be able to keep up with the new system? Kobe's been praising him with his level of IQ & his ability to learn & adapt.
Knowing what Pau can bring to a team, I would really love to see him with the Warriors.

I think Luke Walton would be a major factor in this. He knows firsthand about Pau's high IQ and whether he would fit the dubs system or not. J. Thompson and future 1st round pick seems like a low ball offer. I'm sure other teams are offering more. It would be great to see Pau in a winning situation again.

Bogut is injury prone and Ezeli is out so basically Pau would be a safety net.

Not comparable at all. They both can hit that elbow mid range jumper but Pau can score from the post too and is also a much superior passer and rebounder.
Livingston
Barbosa
Rush
Iggy
Gasol
That lineup would destroy other 2nd units. I think Pau can still play at a high level for 3-4 more years especially if he is limited to 20 minutes per game.
If they sign Durant then they can have this lineup next season:
Curry/Livingston(renounce his rights and re-sign for MLE)
Klay/Barbosa(re-sign for vet minimum)
Durant/Rush(small cap hold/bird rights)
Draygod/Looney
Bogut/Gasol(re-sign with bird rights)
So 4/5 starters would be the same and 4/5 backups would be the same.
