Kobe as Small Forward.
With Meeks doing pretty well as SG, and assuming Kobe would not be as mobile, would MDA use him as a SF?
I remember when MJ returned from retirement, he played SF at Washington so he also doesn't have to chase quick SGs.
The problem is on the other end, he'll be guarded by taller guys too.

Re: Kobe as Small Forward.
Bryant will be defended by the best opposing wing defender regardless. If he isn't then it will only be because his game has significantly diminished.

I imagine he'll rotate on defending those positions depending on the matchups. On offense it really doesn't matter.

Re: Kobe as Small Forward.
Kobe has played a lot of small forward over the years when they start rotating bench players into the game.

Re: Kobe as Small Forward.
It'll be better for Kobe to be a small forward. They're typically slower than SG's and he's going to be slower than he was.

now that their bench players are starters it makes sense

Re: Kobe as Small Forward.
yeah they could do a three guard line up really with Kobe at "small forward". The roles don't mean much these days, the other team will throw their best defender on him anyway and he will defend whoever he's capable of. Against teams that don't have an over sized 3 I don't see a problem

The SG position is at it's weakest in years. There's no use to have Kobe at SF and get exhausted defending the likes of Durant, Lebron, George.

Nash is out for 5 games and P needs touches to get hot, something that won't happen with Kobe and Pau in the line-up. In the Pistons game they showed that when he comes off the bench he scores more points on better efficiency because he can find his rhythm
Blake
Meeks
Kobe
Hill
Gasol

Re: Kobe as Small Forward.
Kobe should try to play like he did in this game from 2008.

I still remember those "assist games" he had once every blue moon.
