The record for averaging the most TOs over a season is 5 per game by Pistol Pete, Harden might get it

Re: what's the turnover record?
This may be moot now, but I thought you would like to have the answer to your question.
14 - John Drew, Atlanta at New Jersey, March 1, 1978 (first season that individual turnovers were recorded in the NBA)
14 - Jason Kidd, Phoenix vs. New York, November 17, 2000
13 - Chris Mullin, Golden State at Utah, March 31, 1988
The league does not track records for turnovers in a half or quarter, but most franchises do.
Nevertheless, you might want to know that there have been players who have turned it over nine times in a half, including LeBron, on March 28, 2005. Kobe turned it over eight times on March 26, 2010. It's not surprising that it would be in games where a player is carrying his team.
There have been players who have committed seven turnovers in a quarter. One of them is Shaq, on April 14, 2000.
The Houston Rockets franchise record for a game is 12 by Moses Malone, at the Phoenix Suns on February 6, 1981. The Rockets don't track turnovers for a half or quarter.
This last postseason James Harden set the single-game playoff record for turnovers with 12. He had another game with 9, and set the 6-game series record for turnovers. He had a playoff game with 10 turnovers in 2013. Maybe he needs to change something to cut them down a little.

No he did not. He set the Wizards franchise record with 12, though, on November 10, 2009.

Re: what's the turnover record?
Harden was pulled really early in this game. Otherwise, he might have set a league record. And the Rockets made a comeback when he wasn't in. I bet he was gassed though.

I had an apple turnover after the Warriors beat OKC tonight.

Harden's first two or three turnovers were unforced and were a result of players not anticipating the ball off of good passes. I didn't watch the game after the 1st period so I don't know what else happened in terms of how he tallied his turnovers.
Turnovers are a misleading stat unless looking at forced turnovers. Sometimes you're just playing with complete shit brained players like Dwight Howard who is the first player to complain about post touches but struggles at anticipating lob passes from James Harden for easy points.

I didn't watch. If what you say is true, some of those should be put down as team turnovers. Still, his proclivity for turnovers is alarming. Did I mention that he turns the ball over a lot? It's about as bad as Monta Ellis back in 2009, 2010. Other players who turn the ball over a lot include Westbrook, Kobe and Dwight.
