The Spurs flat out sagged off him and dared him to shoot...now he's getting tripled teamed?

I'm just gonna say they put a bunch of 3 point shooters around Lebron for good reasons.

Hint: players who generally excelled playing with Shaq shot the 3's well and of those who had driving ability played exceptionally well.

    like this?

meanwhile Kobe's shots were completly open for 80% of the time, both jumpers and shots around the rim

come on. that's ridiculous. Kobe and Shaq were both doubled constantly. Anyone who watched the games knows that. They left Lakers shooters open and just hoped they didn't get burned.

the game is extremely simplified for everyone else when you have someone as imposing and physically dominant as shaq (not to mention you have the GOAT coach who can easily capitalize on this)...it's not the same thing lebron is seeing these days

dude. you obviously didn't watch. What Kobe did to break down defenses, pull defenders away from Shaq and open it up for him in the paint and then give him drop offs/alley oops, was amazing. Their chemistry off court was horrific, their chemistry on court was awesome to watch. and Kobe was constantly hounded on the perimeter by two defenders. but whatever suits your agenda.

You could have easily replaced Bran with 2001 Kobe and Miami would win the title with ease. No way Pop dares Kobe to shoot like he did with Bran. Kobe has historically torched the spurs in the playoffs including 2008 (without Shaq).

    Nice selective facts usage.

You chose 2001 and neglected to mention Kobe's inferior stats in 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004 (and I could keep going, but we're just focusing on his time with Shaq in LA)

It's called not being the focus of the defense, shooting 43% from the field, while not giving an f u c k that Shaq is on your team I'm going to shoot it anyway.

    Kobe> Lebron

Lebron was sagged off while Kobe was being doubled
Saying Lebron was triped is crazy
Wade and Bosh and Allen on the squad

Lebron got Bosh Wade and Allen dude had more weapons then kobe/shaq
so STFU wit that weak comment

Kobe was getting doubled himself watch the playoffs
and we didnt even double Lebron when he played spurs so STFU
LeBron was the first option until they got to the Finals that year. Quite clear they decided James would hold back so Wade could shine brighter and try to get one more Finals MVP. It backfired and before the next season started Wade told the media that he was turning the team over to LeBron.

We all know what's happened since Wade made that DECISION!!

Kobe's pick and rolls caused the big men to go back. Kobe slashing through the defense broke teams down so they were unable to get back to Shaq. If they couldn't get back, its a problem. Kobe creates for Shaq directly with his penetration and nobody got the ball to Shaq better than Kobe did. Kobe's clutch ability and ability to consistently take over in 4th quarters also helped Shaq tremendously. Defenders stayed on Shaq AND Kobe normally, double-teams preferred to leave one of the other Lakers role players open for obvious reasons. Shaq didn't draw Kobe's defenders away or sacrifice his game for Kobe. Kobe did it for Shaq by venturing into the paint and being enough of a threat to draw Shaq's man off him. Shaq didn't play on the perimeter to draw off Kobe's man. Kobe would draw the defense and dish it to Shaq for the slam.

why are all OKC fans lakers fans too ? i don't have a problem with liking 2 teams but every okc fan on this forum is a lakers fan. that is too big of a coincidence.
