All smartphones are battery hogs. And unless you have the Note 3, you're gonna need to charge it multiple times a day if you do more than just call and text.

HTC One is still beast, although it's been out almost a year. Wait for HTC One 2? lol what a name.

I got an iPhone 5 when it came out and I still like it. Don't see any reason not to get the next gen iPhone (6?) whenever my contract is up.

I had the S3 with CM on it and it was a good phone. I wanted a change of pace and got the Iphone 5, and I like it alot more. Sure IOS is a bit restrictive and even with jailbreaking I felt CM was much easier to customize and I had more control of it. But IOS runs better and smoother.

HTC ONE is the best phone out there.

I have tried them all, and this one is the best I have ever had.

    Ye I agree.

Also the Iphones hold onto their value much better. An Iphone 4, a phone that was released almost 2 years before the S3, is selling for a similar price as the S3 on craigslist and eBay.

Really? My work iPhone 5 has been incredible battery wise, though I guess I don't do any non-work stuff on it.

My Note 2 + 2x battery app has been pretty dependable.

Corollas and Civic have great resale values too, but that doesn't change the fact that they are refrigerators on wheels

    Note 3 for me.

As with everything people all have their personal choices.

Yet for me the Wacom digitizer and battery are essential for me. this and the fact that it plays just about every video and audio codec i have tossed on it. The screen is nice bit dont buy it for the camera. Desoite it being 14 mp it isnt as crisp as i would hope. Still multi screens is cool.. watching streaming sports with firefox and other sites with flash works as well doing much more does it for me.

Iphones may be ok for some but I can't stand that small ass screen and the content lockdown and control.
I haven't used my laptop as much anymore. So it has changed alot. If you want something that is basic and you can just jump in. Apple is for you.
If you want something that is closer to a pc in what it does then look into android.
