Is the same thing happening with the Cleveland Browns/Baltimore Ravens?

Yes, but their situation was a little more unique:

After extensive talks between the NFL, the Browns, and officials of the two cities, Cleveland accepted a legal settlement that would keep the Browns legacy in Cleveland.[114] In February 1996, the NFL announced that the Browns would be 'deactivated' for three years, and that a new stadium would be built for a new Browns team, as either an expansion team or a team moved from another city, that would begin play in 1999. Modell would in turn be granted a new franchise, the NFL's 31st, for Baltimore, the Baltimore Ravens, retaining the current contracts of players and personnel.

The Browns ceased play at the end of the 1995 season when Modell relocated the organization to Baltimore. The Browns franchise was then reactivated, and its roster restocked via an expansion draft before resuming play in the 1999 season. There would be a new team, but the Browns' name, colors, history, records, awards, and archives would all remain in Cleveland

    Technically it should be this:
    Charlotte Hornets 1988-02/New Orleans(/Oklahoma) Hornets 2002-2013/New Orleans Pelicans 2013-present.......overall 1988-present.

    Charlotte Bobcats/Charlotte Hornets, 2004-present.

But the Pelicans owner, Benson (or the NBA), gave the Bobcats the original Charlotte Hornets history.

    Now it's basically this:
    - New Orleans Pelican(formerly Charlotte/NO/OKC Hornets), 2002-present.
    - Charlotte Hornets(formerly Bobcats), 1988-02*, 2004-present. *history given to by the Pelicans.

So it might be somewhat confusing (not for me), but you have to say that it was a very good gesture in part by Benson, the Pelicans owner, or the NBA.

Where did you learn this from Kizz? I was always under the impression that team records traveled with the franchise and not the brand or team name.

So if the Supersonics are brought back into the league as a new start up franchise, would they reclaim their records back from the Thunder?

    This shit confuses me...

It depends upon the agreement made between clubs. It tends to vary. In the Hornets' case, it was agreed that all Charlotte history would stay in Charlotte and all New Orleans history in New Orleans.
